Hardy Brown II - SB County Schools

My Goals:

Inspire all students in San Bernardino County to master the top skills needed to compete in the 21st Century.

Graduate well prepared students as they become professionals and contribute to our local, state, national and global communities.

Motivate employers to share the vast career opportunities to the communities of San Bernardino County.

Raise the achievement of all students utilizing all stakeholders in our community.

Married 18 years to his wife Sonietta, together, they have two daughters, 11th grade and 1st grade, that both attend schools in San Bernardino Unified School District. Brown has over 17 years experience in Nonprofit Development, Organizational Leadership, Community Volunteerism, and currently represents the areas of San Bernardino, Rialto and Snowline Joint Unified School Districts.

“My research shows many valuable skills our students need to become productive leaders in their society consists of critical thinking, communication, flexibility, Initiative, the ability to work on a team and a strong work ethic. These skills partnered with a strong educational curriculum, exposure to opportunities and high expectations will allow student to see a path that leads them to success. Working with a diverse body of students and employers has allowed me to develop a passion to see students follow their dreams.”

An alumnus of Wilberforce University, Brown is currently working as a the board member for Girl Scouts of San Gorgonio Council, and on the Board of Advisors for Executive Education at Howard University in Washington D.C. Brown is a diversity columnist for the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Black Voice Newspaper, past member of the board of directors for Arrowhead’s United Way and current Co-Chair of the Inland Empire Minority Led Resource Coalition.

As a Lego’s Serious Play ™ facilitator, Brown utilizes technology, culture and creativity to inspire students to reach beyond themselves to build the critical thinking skills needed to be successful in their career.
