I am R.Haricharan, an Assistant Director of THIMUN Online Model Nations community. I love reading books, MUNing, watching animes and reading mangas.

I was introduced to the world of MUN when I was in my 9th Grade but it was like I found the idea rather amusing: a debate sort of a thing which follows the “procedures” in the United Nations. “What a joke” I thought! But as I entered this world of Model United Nations I found it addictive and interesting, rather than a comedy! The way each and every delegate reacted to a problem, be a worldwide crisis or an inter-country dispute, to be honest, I was astounded!

I joined this O-MUN community in September 2013, with September Asia Regional being my first debate. That was the time when I found out that there were more than one kind of MUN procedures. Our school follows the UNA-USA, while O-MUN was THIMUN. It was a great experience- a knowledgeable one. I have constantly improved from my mistakes and O-MUN has helped me to overcome the problem of stammering. Incidentally the chairs of my first O-MUN debate as a delegate were the chairs of my first debate as a moderator too. I became a moderator after a few attempts. The day when I became a moderator was one of the best days in my life.

Then in my Grade 11, I went to a boarding school and I was without O-MUN, rather I was forced to leave O-MUN for two years. Now that I have completed my schooling, I wanted to join the O-MUN by some means. Thanks to O-MUN I have been made an Assistant Director and I hope in the process of managing the debates, to enlighten the delegates (and myself) about MUN and O-MUN.
