Hari Haran is an Indian sound designer known for his innovative work in the South Indian film industry. He has contributed to numerous acclaimed Kannada, Tamil and Telugu productions, establishing himself as a pioneering voice in cinematic sound design. Hari is the co-founder of Sync Cinema, a leading post-production sound facility based in India. His artistic journey began with a passion for rock and Indian music, computer software, and gaming. His fascination with audio technology and live performances led him to pursue formal education at SAE Chennai, affiliated with Oxford University, where he developed a strong foundation in sound engineering principles. Hari began his career gaining valuable experience producing shows for All India Radio at Nunendo Records, where he specialized in vocal recording and jingle production while honing his skills in live show creation. This formative period allowed him to develop his distinctive approach to sound design, blending traditional acoustic elements with innovative digital techniques. His professional growth continued under the mentorship of Mr. Rajakrishnan at Four Frames Sound Company, where he served as an assistant sound designer before co-founding Sync Cinema with Sachin Sudhakaran. He began as a foley recordist for films like "Pizza" and "Maya," before advancing to comprehensive sound design roles on “Uturn”, "Arjun Reddy" and the critically acclaimed "Vikram Vedha." As a lifelong admirer of Kamal Haasan's technological innovations, Hari considers his work on "Vikram and Coolie “as a career milestone. Hari's approach to sound design is deeply rooted in psychoacoustics, focusing on enhancing narrative through auditory elements. He immerses himself in projects from the script stage, creating sonic landscapes that function as invisible characters, guiding audience emotions and deepening their connection to the story while constantly evolving with emerging sound technologies.
