Harish Anand Thilakan

Digital media and more specifically the internet has been a subject very close to Harish Anand Thilakan's heart for over 12 years now. Evincing a keen interest in the internet & it's working from the age of 14, his teachers at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan Senior Secondary School, Chennai were extremely supportive of his setting up his own digital media business in class 10. Having enrolled into the School of Excellence in Law straight after school, Harish went on to formally set up Influx and further grow it into an interactive media agency to reckon with at a national level. Fiercely loyal to the local Indian market, Influx Interactive soon become the agency of choice for Reliance Communications, Kingfisher Airlines, Big FM, Royal Enfield, Apollo Hospitals & Vodafone amongst others. Influx also managed to carve a niche in the entertainment business as the online partner of choice of nearly every multiplex chain in the country.

Today Influx, into its 7th year of operations is a 25 member strong team. By September 2012, Influx [Interactive & Alive] would have grown to 40 in head count with a focus now on taking our specialization in cinema website deployments to international cinema chains while adding more consumer brands into our portfolio.

Born to middle class parents with no exposure to the world of business on either side for well over three generations, Harish's parents were a little taken aback but not surprised when they learnt of his decision to setup his own business. His mother fondly recalls how he along with a childhood friend set up "Oxford Youth Library" while they were in sixth standard in school!

Towards the end of his schooling life, Harish represented India at the Global Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC & New York where he was conferred the Youth Leadership Award amongst the 288 participants. In law school, Harish was awarded the distinction of representing the country at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition in Sydney, Australia as a representative of the Tamil Nadu Government.

The one common thread that defines his attitude towards anything Harish pursues is passion. Whether it's his love for understanding high fashion brands to fancy cars, his work, photography as well as his part time role as a food critic, Harish displays a child-like passion which comes through in the results he delivers.
