Boys-n-Girls Choir-of-Harlem

The Boys and Girls Choir of Harlem is a musical, artistically inspired organization dedicated to providing inner-city youth opportunities to become disciplined, confident, motivated and successful Americans and to act as cultural ambassadors for great, American art.

When the terms "boys choir or girls choir" are bandied about, more often than
not, the first ones that comes to mind are the The Boys Choir of Harlem and The Girls Choir of Harlem. After years as America's premier choral organization, The Boys Choir of Harlem and Girls Choir of Harlem was rocked by a scandal, that sent the organization reeling. But, like true champions, those who adhered to the principals laid down by founder Walter Turnbull, have risen up from the mat,cleared their heads and have started punching away to re-launch this true American treasure.

The Dr. Walter J Turnbull Music Foundation(WJT Music Foundation)will lead this effort. The Foundation is dedicated to developing and funding programs that use music as a catalyst to artistically, academically and socially develop children and youth, in the spirit grounded in the model as articulated through The Boys Choir and Girls Choir of Harlem founded by the late Dr. Walter J. Turnbull.

The Foundation will develop, sustain and strengthen programs that have as their core mission using music and choral performance to address the development of young people and the positive empowerment of the communities in which they live. This is the driving force behind the creation of the W JT music foundation.

The Foundation's initial focus will seek to develop/redevelop The New Boys Choir and Girls Choir of Harlem. It will use a high expectation nurturing environment with the objective of re-establishing one of the country's national treasures, greatest national and international ambassadors and a saver of lives particularly in urban communities.
