Mike Harris

Therapist, Public Speaker, and Consultant in Melbourne, Australia

I'm a country boy that has always been fascinated by the mind. My passion is to better understand it and teach others how to better optimise theirs.

After two years of Applied Science, and an Occupational Therapy degree, I had my ticket into the health & well-being industry.

I've worked in a lot of interesting settings. From three years as a CAMHS Therapist - providing Psychotherapy to young people often expressing suicidal ideas, to locuming around London for three years. I've met imprisoned psychopaths, withdrawing ice users and people deep in delusional and psychotic states. All the while I tried to understand and help them all. Not always successfully I might add. But seeing these aspects of the mind has fuelled my curiosity to develop as a therapist.

Along the way I've maintained my sceptical scientific mindset; always asking "Why?" and "Is this really the best way to approach it?".

But deep down, I'm an entrepreneur. At 10, I was riding my bike around the neighbourhood selling eggs from my many chickens. By 24, I'd had a number of ventures including a failed ice-cream business 'ColdCone' (RIP). But early in my clinical and entrepreneurial careers I realised that an individuals potential mainly resided between their ears. That in order to get ahead despite life's many 'lessons', we each need to fully utilize our 87 billion neurons. If we can do that, life becomes much easier and rich with possibilities. So... I've been studying and experimenting for years now, my guineapig, myself.

I'm coming to you today after hundreds of hours of reading, research and 8 years of mental health application. I've learned about the neuroscience of mindfulness and why 58/60 of the top CEOs do it, learned how to maintain focus and motivation for hours at a time by training my rVLPF cortex, studied the microbiome and it's influence on mood and anxiety. The things I've learned are truly amazing, and work. I love teaching these concepts to people like you who are tired of accepting, and ready to embrace positive change.

The brain hasn't changed in 50,000 years. The world and technology change every second. If you access your own cognitive and emotional potential... you'll be at a huge advantage over your peers.

Imagine doubling productivity and thus halving work time. This is no longer the stuff of fiction - the neuroscience is solid, and it works.

If you want to see how I can assist you or your team, then get in touch.

Worst case scenario, we have an interesting chat.
