I’ve just finished my 8th semester of my Laws/Commerce degree, and time is really flying by. During my time at Bond University I've loved getting involved in campus activities. There’s always something on whether it’s one of the university parties like Bondstock, volunteering to be involved in cultural events like the Sony Foundation Bond Children’s Holiday Camp, or a social sporting activity like social netball on Tuesday nights. I’ve always had the opportunity to get involved.
I live a very active lifestyle and just participated in the Tough Mudder event, on the Sunshine Coast this year. I enjoy getting involved and learning new experiences. This year I challenged myself to become a better swimmer and learn the sport waterpolo at Bond. This was a complete change for me because in the past I was just a runner, competing in events like the Bridge to Brisbane.
I’m not just into sports and have a broad range of interest. My current hobbies include: playing chess, running, going to the gym, waterpolo and learning more about the financial markets.
I’m even lucky enough not to hold a regular job at university. During school terms I get to work as a Chess Coach and teach other people the strategy based game I fell in love with growing up, playing against my dad. This opportunity for me has been awesome, as I have been able to work hard while having fun.
I have always seemed to enjoy challenges and finding the solution to problems. I think this is why I have got involved in the Bond University Mooting Program and have entered negotiation, client interview and witness examination competitions. I like experiencing the practical applications of my study and figuring out the best of each side of an argument.
I have also been able to develop more as a team player and leader. In the past I was a part of the Bond Athletics Running Club (BARC) as the Treasurer, and the BondAct club as the Treasurer. Now I have changed from BARC and am the President of the BondAct club. Being a member of clubs at university has been great as I get to lead teams and work together creating social events for the Bond University community.
