Harrison Kim

I was born in Los Angeles, California in the year of 1994, having moved to Georgia prior to entering the 3rd grade. Most of my life, I have held a close relationship with my cousins, often visiting their homes most days of the week, even the reason for moving being related to several relatives living here. I have two younger sisters who are both attending elementary school, named Audrey and Lauren. Lauren, the younger of the two, had been born with a heart problem, which had inspired me to study cardiology, I previously unaware of my original intentions, although I knew it would pertain to something medical. Despite my Korean descent, I lack fluency in the language, which motivated me to learn sometime in the following years with hopes of being to actually converse with my grandparents, all of whom speak little to no English. On top of Korean, I would like to learn Spanish, having taken 3 years of it in highschool, so that it may become a useful trait if it is ever needed in the distant future. Also in highschool, although I was not very active in clubs, having only joined one and did not participate on a regular basis, I volunteered on the weekends to spend time with children and adults who have special needs. The 3 years that I have spent volunteering have been a wonderful experience for me, and I hope that I can return to it while in college. For an extent of time, I have been particularly fond of drawing and playing guitar as a hobby, although both of these have subsided more or less in the past few years. Coming to the University of Georgia, I hope for the best, hopefully being able to experience new things that I had failed to do before, such as finding a job, which now seems to be mandatory considering the payments needed to be made in order to attend. Despite this, it's a privilege to have accepted here, and I aspire to make and reach my goals during my time here.
