A significant part of my childhood consists of watching college football, specifically Penn State football. Both of my parents attended Pennstate and would start watching football religiously. I would always watch my parents rant or become frantic when Pennstate lost, something I never understood when I was introduced to the sport. However, this passion would eventually catch on to my sister and me when we were both very young allowing us to strengthen our bond. While watching Pennstate play was exhilarating, witnessing the team lose and miss the playoffs every year in a heartbreaking fashion was difficult to watch. The most recent loss against Notre Dame in the Semi-Finals was tough to stomach as it would prevent Penn State from attending the National Championship in their first playoff run. Along with watching the games throughout my childhood, my family would travel to see Pennstate bowl games. These trips became an annual tradition, opening me up to many different places and cultures in the United States I would otherwise have never experienced. These games would always be very engaging as I would be able to meet many people with the same obsession as me. Being able to continue to make memories with my family and meet new people through watching and going on trips to Penn State games will always be something I appreciate.
