As director of acquisition and development for 601W Companies in New York City, Harry Skydell has overseen projects across the United States. He manages a portfolio with most of its acquisitions centered in Manhattan, where the company owns 13 buildings in such well-known locations as Madison Avenue, 42nd Street, and 7th Avenue. Harry Skydell has also facilitated transactions and projects in Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C., where the company purchased a property on the famed Pennsylvania Avenue.
Harry Skydell has played a key role in many of the company's high visibility projects, including the 2.3 million square foot Prudential Plaza in Chicago. After purchasing the building in 2013, the company invested $100 million in new windows and elevators as well as such amenities as a 14,000 square foot fitness center and a rooftop deck. Mr. Skydell also oversaw the building of a new tenant lounge before facilitating the property's profitable sale.
Mr. Skydell is now involved in several new projects, including the conversion of the former Macy's Building in Minneapolis into a technology and media center. He is also at work on a $500 million renovation of the Old Post Office in the central business district of Chicago, where the building is being transformed into an on-trend media office building.
