I'm currently a BDIC (Bachelor degree with Individual Concentration) student at UMass Amherst. I chose this major because I got to create my own curriculum and include everything that I loved to do; most of which involves film.
In high school I took part in a video production course/program that taught me the basics of filmmaking. We learned how to shoot, capture, and edit short videos. After a couple years in the program I decided to push beyond the classroom and teach myself the "cool stuff." I got into special effects and 3D animations. I started watching tutorial videos and followed along by dong the project myself. I quickly became fluent in Adobe After Effects and Illustrator, and started incorporating that into my work.
Last spring, I did an internship at Amherst Media where I directed, edited, and produced graphics for in studio shows and town events. This was a great experience and I learned way more about production value than I initially anticipated. I also got some live practice on those skills I had been developing. A lot of my content was aired over the local Amherst, Ma TV stations, and I was hired to comeback for the summer to continue working on future projects.
My work is constantly getting better with the classes I take, and the opportunities I act upon. I 'm currently in the process of gathering all my work and create a short demo reel to show on sites like this.
