Diamonds are said to be a girl’s best friend. And for me that holds true. But when I say diamond, I am not referring to a certain karat; I mean a softball diamond. From a young age, baseball and softball have played a large role in my life. From watching, to playing, to coaching, there has always been a strong presence and influence.

Upon entering college, I saw this as an opportunity to take a childhood hobby and turn it into a career affiliated with the sport atmosphere I am so passionate about. Isenberg has been able to expand myself throughout the sport industry and realize this truly is a place and path for me. I am apart of UMASSM, a sport management club through Isenberg, as well as held a hand in many of the events run in accordance through UMASSM. These events have given me great experiences in gaining leadership, networking, and opened my eyes to how much work goes into a successful sporting event. Similarly, I have been working with the Umass Baseball team alongside the coaches helping with administrative work and seeing some of the behind-the-scenes aspect of college athletics. It is with some of these experiences and opportunities that have helped me acquire an internship this summer with the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox, a team affiliate of the notable Cape Cod Baseball League. This opportunity is right up my ally; I am so excited to be apart of a baseball teams organization and get hands on experience that will eventually lead me to bigger and greater opportunities in the professional field I love.

Aside from continuing to grow as a student within the sport industry, I am also planning on studying abroad this upcoming summer for a few weeks. I will be travelling to four different European countries gaining valuable experience in both personal growth and cultural enhancement; two important aspects of finding yourself and growing as an individual. I am hoping these two upcoming opportunities will provide me with as much joy and experiences that will continue to help me grow.
