"Hi!" You might have to diret your line of vision downward, as I'm only 4'10.
I currently live in San Antonio, TX, home of the Alamo and the River Walk. Originally though, I come from Mexico. I was born and raised in Monterrey, a city where I learned to appreciate the magic of tacos, and salsas. From a young age, I was exposed to the lively, loud, and colorful culture, that has become such a strong and determinant quality of Mexico. However, this wasn't a strong enough reason for me and my family to stay. The summer of my 8th grade year, we moved to San Antonio, leaving our culture, traditions, and family behind. Over the years we found that adapting to a new culture was easier than we thought, mainly because we sticked together as a family. Our struggle as immigrants, soon became an adventure. I was thrilled, yet scared at the same time. The experiences I had my 8th grade year, have become some of the most memorable in my life. What seemed like a lost cause, soon became a new chapter of my life.
During this thrilling chapter of my life, I was given opportunities that helped me find a sense of belonging. I joined the tennis team, a place where I found comfort in teammates, and a purpose in improvement. This year marked our 25th consecutive year of winning Districts, and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it.
Moving to San Antonio was the last thing I expected, and it turned out to be a blessing.
My goal in life is to become an all-around positive individual. Always "half-full" and never "half-empty."
I'll forgive you if you didn't notice me standing in front of you, because that's what being "half-full" is all about!
