Hassan khayoon
Teacher, Director, and Actor in Antwerpen, België
Iraqi, director, actor and coach studied at the Conservatory in Baghdad (Director),
then at the University of Baghdad, College of Fine Arts, where he earned a Bachelor
of Fine Arts (Specialisation, Theatre Director).
He was one of the fifteen Iraqi artists who took part in the “Bagdad - Berlin” project
which took place in Berlin from 18 June to 15 August 2005 included. The project was
financed by the Fund for Cultural Development and the German Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.
At the end of 2005 he settled in Antwerp, Belgium. Since his arrival in Europe his
productions in Belgium included: Gebeurd in Bagdad (It happened in Bagdad),
Stemmen uit de Chaos (Voices from Chaos), Irak ... een land van voorzichtige hoop
(Iraq, a country of fragile hope), My life, Upstream for Zomer van Antwerpen,
Happened, 20 nachten (20 Nights), Angst (Fear), Zonder titel (Without title in
Sweden Scenario of love and Othello( Antwerp).
In 2012 he started giving improvisation theatre classes” ”The empty space"
and intensive workshops on a weekly basis. He also worked as a coach, director and
dramaturg for various theatre and dance companies.
