Hassan Yarpezeshkan
Hassan Yarpezeshkan, Chief Technology Officer of Cenergy Power, has worked as an electrical engineer since his graduation from college in 1979. Educated at the University of Missouri, Hassan Yarpezeshkan completed an electrical engineering degree. Hassan Yarpezeshkan joined Computer Power, Inc. and spent one year applying his engineer’s training to understanding the backup power operation theory, as well as the testing and designing of nonlinear magnetics. Next undertaking the position of Design Engineer with Square D/Topaz, Hassan Yarpezeshkan developed ultra-isolator and power conditioning lines and assumed increasingly important roles during his 11-year career with the transformer and power-source manufacturing company. Accepting a promotion as an Engineering Manager, Hassan Yarpezeshkan helped establish standards in the design of power generators, as well as conditioners and inverters. As Square D/Topaz’s Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering, Hassan Yarpezeshkan developed life-testing equipment, as well as aided the company’s expanding manufacturing with the development of its then new Tijuana facility in Mexico. During his career at Square D/Topaz, Hassan Yarpezeshkan was awarded the company’s PWMD Award, as well as certification as a GE Six Sigma Champion. Hassan Yarpezeshkan soon undertook more entrepreneurial pursuits. Utilizing his vast experience with engineering and technology, Hassan Yarpezeshkan went on to found Phoenix Power Systems, Inc., in 1992. With a fledgling staff of two, Hassan commenced leadership of a standard power company that grew to more than 140 employees and then sold to Maxwell Technologies, Inc. in 2000. A trained engineer, Hassan Yarpezeshkan created a design for an electrostatic fork shield and a zero transfer switch, for which he holds the patents. Additionally an experienced manager, Hassan Yarpezeshkan has assumed the role of chairman of several IEEE technical subcommittees, which standardize quality in the industry.
