Violinist Hattie Ahn is currently a senior studying under Milan Vitek at Oberlin Conservatory. Born in Seoul, South Korea, she began playing the violin at the age of nine. Her past instructors include Hal Grossman, Annie Chalex Boyle, and Yuri Namkung. She has been awarded First Prize at the Golden Strings of America International Competition in 2011 and performed a recital at Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall on January 2012. In 2012 and 2013, Ahn has traveled with Oberlin Orchestra and the Contemporary Music Ensemble and performed in Carnegie Hall. She was also awarded First Place in the Lima Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition in 2012. Ahn graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy with a Fine Arts Award in 2011. Hattie Ahn had numerous master classes with top musicians such as Paul Kantor, Jorja Fleezanis, Margaret Batjer, Sergiu Schwartz and Weigang Li.
