Axis Deer Hunting Hawaii in Kula, HI
The Hawaiian Islands have a tremendous deer problem that continues to grow since, on an island born from under the sea floor, the deer have no natural predators and their populations are skyrocketing. The deer in question are Axis deer and they were brought to the Hawaiian Islands in the 1800’s, like so many other species, because someone thought it would be a good idea.
With no natural predators, these invasive species are causing millions of dollars in damage to the sensitive island environment by trampling the native vegetation, nibbling at golf courses, snacking at hotel and resort gardens, and munching at small farms. While there is deer hunting on Maui, there are not nearly enough hunters to control the population boom.
Hawaii Safaris primarily hunt on large, private ranches and with a 99% success rate can almost assure you the hunt of a lifetime. We have have been in operation since 1992 and all of our guides are born and raised in Hawaii and feature years of experience with a unique blend of knowledge, culture and the aloha spirit.
