Haydée Zayas-Ramos (Puerto Rico) is a freelance writer in Spanish, mentor for new writers, educator, and certified reading promoter who love to WORK FOR HIRED WRITING STORIES IN SPANISH, PROOFREADING, AND GIVING WORKSHOPS.
Completed a BA in Psychology (UIA), Masters in Public Administration (UPRRP), 5 years of creative writing workshops (MDC, FL), has training and two years of teaching experience in Alternative Education, and currently is working on her PHD. She is trilingual (Spanish – native, English and Portuguese).
Haydée has twelve books published and has participated in seven anthologies. Although the children collection ¡Hola! is bilingual, her books are in Spanish; some published in the traditional printing way, others are handmade books. She has also published in cultural magazines in United States, Colombia, Spain, and Puerto Rico. Haydée has worked for hire for the University of Chicago, for whom she wrote three short stories for the Spanish version of the STEP program.
She offers workshops to all age participants on topics related to writing in Spanish, communication, and how to integrate art with all classes. Haydée has studied and research about using writing as a tool to manage emotions. This combine her background in Psychology and writing. She offers the workshop Writing to heal. She is the creator of Vivo del Cuento, a socio-educative project dedicated to promote literacy among students and adults. Through Vivo del Cuento Haydée use literature and writing (creative and therapeutic) as a tool to provide emotional support, cognitive stimulation and/or development, self-esteem strengthening, company to elders, support to new writers, cultural awareness, improvement of Spanish skills, and fun, a lot of fun. She loves to travel; get to know people, new places, and integrate all these in her stories and workshops.
