Hayley Kats

Student at the School of Public Health and Health Sciences at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Class of 2016.

As a child, I grew up in a house where high quality food was of the up most importance. My mother decided to enter culinary school while I was still very young and I was extremely influenced by her decisions to pursue careers in the food industry. My father, on the other hand, has always been an entrepreneur and a business man, and I always knew I wanted to follow in his footsteps in some way.

After entering college as marketing major, I knew that I wanted to delve deeper into my passion for eating healthily, as well as teaching others about the importance of taking care of your body in regards to food and exercise.

I plan on finding a career where I can use my business skills to market a healthy lifestyle and nutrition education, whether it be working directly in the food industry, food policy, or possibly a medical route. I will definitely be continuing my education after graduation, whether it be my Masters or MD. I am very passionate about keeping a balance in my life, both physically and mentally, and by promoting wellness in myself as well as in others I believe to be enroute to my success in my career as well as success in my happiness with my life.

I am: hardworking, a team player, creative, open-minded, a good listener, dedicated, experimental, a student, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a colleague and curious.
