Hire me

My name is Hayley Voort and I was born and raised in Stratford, Ontario. I have one older sister, a mother who is a Speech-Language Pathologist and a father who works as a Child and Family Therapist. Growing up, I enjoyed baking, step dancing and travelling with my family.

During my years of elementary and secondary education, I attended Bedford Public School and Stratford Central Secondary School. I graduated from the French Immersion program in 2016, and following that, I moved north to attend the Concurrent Education Program at Laurentian University. I opted to complete my undergraduate studies in the field of Communication and French, and my Bachelor of Education in the primary-junior division.

I have always enjoyed working with children of all ages, and this has been reflected in my part-time work. During high school, I spent two years working as a camp leader for the City of Stratford Day Camps. During this time, I also completed a cooperative education placement in a grade one/two split French Immersion classroom. Once I moved to Sudbury, I began working for Laurentian Recreation as a camp leader for their summer day camp programs. I also began working at the Laurentian Child and Family Centre as an Early Education Assistant.

I have acquired a number of transferable skills in the childhood education field, such as patience, understanding and strong communication. I have had the privilege of working with children of all stages of development, and through these experiences, I have developed a passion for the field of teaching.
