My husband and I purchased 1.376 acres in late 2002. In the spring of 2003 we began to plan for our dream home. We knew that we wanted the look of a log home but could not afford the price per square foot. Using a modular home builder we designed the layout of the house from a log home plan. This plan was ideal since the master suite was on the first level as well as the garage and laundry room. This home would accommodate our family now as well as my husband and myself in the years to come. We were the GC's during the construction phase and through a lot of trial and tribulation moved into the house in spring 2004. Our children finished out their high school years in this house. Both of them went to colleges a few hours way and they came home during breaks. They brought friends home and everyone enjoyed the warmth, comfort and peacefulness of the house and surroundings. In eleven years we have made improvements inside and outside of the house. Both of us enjoy entertaining in the finished basement, flower and vegetable gardening, sitting outside around the fire pit and living in a quiet, peaceful area of Washington County, PA. We had planned for this to be our forever home.
