HEAL UoS

Established in 2005, HEAL UoS is a network of people interested in health ethics and law at the University of Southampton. We are an inter-disciplinary group exploring the nature of law, its processes of production and impact on society through examining specific examples in Health Law and Ethics. HEAL is now Directed by Dr Caroline Jones, with Dr A M Viens as Deputy Director. The network, which has over 70 members, draws together a range of scholars from different disciplines to build upon the broad range of expertise in the field of health care and ethics within the University and across local health care services. We arrange lunchtime seminars on topical subjects, annual workshops, and liaise with colleagues and peers to discuss and coordinate responses to public consultations in the field of health care ethics and law.
