When I was in the third grade I moved from Rhode Island to Tennessee. At the time I had a bad speech impediment and a thick northern accent which made it virtually impossible for anyone to understand a word I was saying. This made my life miserable. I had always been a talkative child and not being able to effectively communicate with those around me was not option for me. So with some time, and a really good speech therapist, my accent faded and my speech impediment disappeared. Since then I've been talking my way through life, but it wasn't until high school that I realized the passion I had for public speaking. The adernaline rush I feel anytime I look into a crowd, whether it's 20 people or 2000, is something I wouldn't trade for the world. Public speaking is a passion of mine that I will continue to pursue wherever my life takes me.

In the future I hope to find a career in marketing/ advertising that will allow me to use public speaking frequently. Whether it is in making small presentations to my colleagues or pitching larger ideas to clients, public speaking is a passion I hope to carry with me into the professional world.
