My interest in pursuing a business career for myself first arose with mid-level managerial experience in the retail industry. Performance appraisals, scheduling, dealing with sales reps, managing inventory, and organizing promotional events, among other things, are tasks at which I excel. I also have consulting experience in problem solving for small business entrepreneurs. I take pride in my abilities and always set the bar high.
Currently I am a mature student in my second year of the Business Management and Entrepreneurship Program at Algonquin College. My college experience has been full and rewarding with a number of personally fulfilling challenges. This has been greatly facilitated by the wonderful professors and eclectic group of students I have been fortunate to meet at Algonquin.
In my spare time, which I have precious little during school, I enjoy reading, creating and appreciating art, music, travel, adventure and adrenaline. Jumping out of planes, dune buggies in the desert, and firing machine guns at the range are some of the activities I have enjoyed. Of course these extreme activities are balanced out with more sedate pursuits such as a trip to the National Gallery, a concert with friends, enjoying an interesting book, or opening up my sketch pad when inspired. Travel and discovering different cultures is of particular interest to me and a great way to learn about yourself and others. Underneath it all, though, I am a bit of a traditionalist with strong family ties which help keep my life balanced.
