Heather Brewer

Whenever I have to write about myself, the first thing that comes to mind is where I grew up and still live. Detroit, specifically Southwest Detroit, has had a profound impact on my worldview and an even larger role in shaping my identity.

I live and love in Detroit. I'm a nurse in the roughest part of the city and live in a flourishing community known as Mexican Town.

I recently lost my mother and was in a car accident that rendered me housebound for 6 months which will be up in May. I can not wait to get back to work. However! In the mean time, I am taking full advantage of the few months I have left at home healing to write and study espanol.
