Heather Chontos has worked over the last 16 years as a major player in the art and design world. She has been a prop stylist and set designer over the years for a long list of publications and commercial entities as well as showing her paintings and drawings, illustrating for big fashion magazines and art directing projects for the likes of Anthropologie and Barney's. Her career started way back in London where she got her foot in the door with the amazing Minn Hogg at World Of Interiors magazine, she swiftly moved her way through the the fashion and interiord design industries building her creative mark. She re-located to the USA in 2005 and worked steadily within the US marketplace as she had done for years, but also making her place as a designer of textiles and home goods as well. She developed the concept company "milk farm road", which is now housed in a beautiful studio in Portland, Maine. She is the single mother of 2 beautiful daughters Kodie age 14 and Zana age 5. They have a St. bernard named "Riley" and a kitten named "Stella". It is a lively household to say the least!!

Milk Farm Road was created as a concept to bring together my love for painting, for textures, colors, prints and the object all combined into one. As a prop stylist for many years working creating the image, the story of a certain lifestyle of art and beautiful things, I wanted to take that lifestyle and make the things within that world for everyone to have access to. I always said in interviews throughout the years that when I style and create for a shoot or art direct a story I would put the parts of the image together as if I were making a painting. I would think of form and color and texture the same way that I did when I had my palette knife in hand and was getting ready to hit the canvas!
After all, I was an artist before I was a stylist. And every time I create something for milk farm road it is with the mentality of making a beautiful image, but one that can be lived in.
