At Air & Space / Smithsonian magazine I edit feature aviation and aerospace stories for print, run the regular departments that appear in each issue, and write for The Daily Planet blog and Twitter.

I'm also the founder of Exposed DC, a 501(c)(3) organization that provides networking, mentoring, and exhibit opportunities for Washington, D.C. area photographers. The venture is an evolution of the DCist Exposed Photography Show, an annual contest and exhibit that launched in 2006. We produce a photo magazine each year with the winners, and our website offers information, challenges, and social events for local photographers.

Previously, I was the arts and managing editor at DCist, and an attorney at Mayer Brown LLP.

I have a degree in non-fiction writing from Ohio Wesleyan University, where I minored in physics and astronomy, and a law degree from American University.
