Heather Hogan

Greetings, I’m Heather. I’m a student living in Wicklow, Ireland. I was born in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin and lived there until I was 12. I then moved to Gorey, Co. Wexford until I was 20, and now I live in Wicklow Town, Co. Wicklow, where my mam grew up. So I've seen a lot of the East Coast!

I'm studying Business and Arts Management, and I'm currently in 4th year in IADT.

I am a fan of photography and film. I have embedded a video that my good friend made, and that I helped shoot a few scenes for. Hope you enjoy it!

I also love music, and travel. I have traveled all over the world: Portugal, Iceland, Finland, Spain, France, England, Greece... you name it! Three places I have never been that I really want to visit are America (specifically Hawaii) Australia and Switzerland. I hope to travel after I am finished my degree and find work in different places around the world. I have an enormous love for Europe, so I would probably pick a country in that continent.

My main interests, however, are reading and swimming. I'm an avid reader and my room is overflowing with books. I am a competitive swimmer and I currently work as a lifeguard and swimming teacher at Coral Leisure Centre in Wicklow. My job is interesting because we have many things going on; swimming lessons, aqua aerobics, dance classes, spinning classes, water safety, lifeguard training, rookie lifeguard.. and lots more! It keeps you entertained and interested at work.

I would love to work more in the arts industry... I have previously worked in Xtra Vision, as a waitress, a barista... but none of these jobs were suited to me. I love my current job, because I get to work a lot with kids, but I think dipping into a career in the arts sector would really help me to put my degree to good use, and I think it would suit my personality. My dream job would be a reader at a book publisher. I also love event management, and I have a Centre of Excellence degree in wedding planning. Some other qualifications that I have are: a level 8th in piano, a Centre of Excellence degree in sign language, level 1 and level 2 swim teachers, level 1 safeguarding for children... and many more.
