Penn State

Heather Holleman studied shame and narcissism for her doctoral work in English Literature at the University of Michigan. She serves on the staff of Faculty Commons with Cru (formally Campus Crusade for Christ) and helps direct the graduate student ministry at Penn State. She is a faculty member of Penn State’s English Department and teaches both freshman composition and advanced writing. Her book, How to Write with Flair, supplements the curriculum for the Advanced Writing in the Humanities courses. She has received numerous teaching awards in the past ten years including Rakham’s Most Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award, the Moscow Prize for Excellence in Teaching Composition, and the Residence Life Mentor Award. At the University of Virginia, she won the Wagenheim Prize for the best essay written by an undergraduate. She blogs daily at Live with Flair and has contributed articles to various Christian magazines and websites in the past ten years. She loves the verb grapple, and her favorite punctuation mark is the semicolon. The Bible verses she quotes most often to herself are Galatians 2:20 and Psalm 16.
