Los Angeles

I started my production career in the theatre in college, as a director, assistant director, and stage manager at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Being behind the scenes was a thrill, where ‘it’ all happened, the magic of the theatre. I had some unique professional experiences working on multiple productions with Shakespeare Santa Cruz such as: A Midsummers Night Dream, A Life in the Theatre, Company, and was swept up in the camaraderie and the excitement of breathing life into a project. I parlayed this early exposure to this circus-like environment into the work place, and was employed at many professional theatres around Los Angeles, including: The Odyssey Theatre, The Mark Taper Forum, Shakespeare L.A., The Pasadena Playhouse, and The Occidental Theatre Festival, working on such groundbreaking projects like 'McCarthy', and the workshop production of 'Perestroika', Part 2 to Angels In America, among many others. My directing experiences included a production of Harold Pinter’s Old Times, which I produced and directed myself, winning a Chancellor’s Award for my work. My Senior Thesis production of Fortune And Men’s Eyes was chosen as a finalist to compete in the American College Theatre Festival in 1987.
Eventually, my stage experience led me to the film industry, and to membership in the Directors Guild of America. Since becoming a member in 1997, I have worked on a multitude of feature films, commercials, television series, webisodes, music videos, and promos. I started as a production assistant on the 2nd season of Baywatch, making copies and have held every production position since then. From there, my career took me up and down the varied hills of film production working as a 1st & 2nd Assistant Director, on iconic feature films such as Bottle Rocket, Citizen Ruth, L.A. Confidential, and television projects such as Commander in Chief, Line Of Fire, Fast Lane, Flash Forward, Silk Stalkings. I cut my Producing and Production Management teeth on more television: Reyes Y Rey, a Spanish re-make of Starsky & Hutch shot south of the border, Watch Over Me, based on the telenovella model for Fox, and the popular kid series Deadtime Stories for Nickelodeon, based on the children’s book series. I look forward to my next cinematic collaboration and challenge.
