Heather Matuszek
Executive Assistant-Construction and Design in Safety Harbor, FL
Heather Matuszek, born on April 2, 1987, in Providence, Rhode Island, has become a recognized figure in the Construction and Design industry as an Executive Assistant, now based in Florida. Her journey from the Northeast to Florida's welcoming climate reflects a story of determination and professional evolution.
In 1996, Heather moved with her family to Stuart, Florida, where she grew up alongside her sisters, embracing a vibrant, active lifestyle. Early on, she developed a passion for sports, participating in ice hockey and baseball, which were foundational in shaping her team spirit and leadership skills. At Martin County High School, Heather continued to demonstrate her athletic abilities in softball, powderpuff flag football, and rowing while also stepping into leadership roles, including serving as the class vice president for two years.
Post high school, Heather furthered her education at Mercer University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, along with a minor in Leadership and Service. During her college years, she was heavily involved in Baptist Collegiate Ministries, played intramural sports, and devoted herself to various community service efforts. Her academic career was distinguished by her co-authorship of a research paper published in the Journal of Morphology. However, her time at Mercer was also marked by personal tragedy, as she lost her older sister in a car accident, profoundly impacting her perspective and life choices.
After college, Heather returned to Florida to stay close to her family during a period of profound personal loss. She initially worked as a substitute teacher and high school sports coach, roles that enabled her to contribute positively to her community. Her career took a significant turn in 2010 when she ventured into the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry, where her leadership skills quickly propelled her to managerial positions. Her commitment to sports continued as she coached softball at Jensen Beach High School, blending her passions for leadership and athletics.
In 2013, Heather's professional path led her to Largo, Florida, where she assumed the role of Director of Operations at a QSR. Her prowess in this role earned her a spot in a prestigious Interim Manager program in 2014, where she managed and opened new restaurant locations nationwide. This experience paved the way for her to become the Owner/Operator of a QSR in Clearwater, Florida, in 2016, a role she held with excellence until 2021.
