Northern California was where I began my journey. At a young age my family relocated to West Michigan, which is where I would tell you I grew up.

I had an itch. Not the kind that needs a cream, a different kind. After four internships and graduation from GVSU (Go Lakers!) I was hired to coordinate events and marketing efforts for a directory publishing company. This experience was huge for me as the company was growing quickly and I was working under a very seasoned VP of Marketing.

My itch was growing stronger, so much so that I decided that I would leave the safety of my job, family and friends, and move to Charlotte NC. In 1997, I did just this and spent three months "temping" and waiting tables while I interviewed Charlotte. And I did interview Charlotte! After 60+ interviews, many of which were informational and some that generated life-long friendships, I accepted a position and entered my career as a marketer, brand champion and creative strategist.

Fast forward to 2002, I'm now Director of Marketing for a network integration firm and I'm itching for something else - entrepreneurship. DEZINZinc, my business driven marketing and design firm, was launched.

After one of my most successful years in business, 2007, I made the leap into motherhood. Being a parent is simply the most interesting and rewarding job I've ever had.

Along with my work, carpool, swimming and ninja lessons over the years, I was able to volunteer at my son's amazing public Montessori school and I still love to work out and take yoga as often as possible.

My kiddo is now off to college and my next chapter is ramping up!

On the weekends, you will most likely find me outdoors. Hiking or traveling somewhere for an adventure are my favorite activities. (That's me and my little man at the US National Whitewater Center playing on their ropes course. He was very fearless five-year-old on that day!)

My friends know me as a person most likely to want to plan and do something adventurous. No matter what that something is; traveling anywhere, admiring art, hiking, wall climbing, hitting the beach, repelling, exploring caves... I'm game!

When I grow up, I'd like to design and build homes, become a naturopath, and invent something profound for humankind.

In 2021 I became certified as a Parenting Guide & Mentor and I now get to support other Moms and Dads in growing their connection with themselves, their children and inner circle, and in the world.
