Heath Jackson
Financial Services, Consultant, and coach in San Antonio, Texas
I'm a problem solver by nature, a data-cruncher by training, and a thorough question-asker by experience - but let's not forget, a frequent user of Google to confirm my hunches.
I used to dream of becoming a finance guy, but little did I know that it would lead me to a niche in personal financial planning. My upbringing in the RIA and broker-dealer world has taught me that it's not all about the money, but it certainly helps.
I took a 15-year detour in the corporate world, where I where I built skills in consulting, leadership, sales, training, and practice management. So, I've spent the last two decades leading teams, developing people, enhancing processes, crafting strategic imperatives, and executing on a mission - which is just a fancy way of saying I've been trying to figure things out as I go.
For the past few years, I've been helping financial planning firms grow by implementing strategies that actually work (and not just ones that sound good in theory). I've thoroughly enjoyed working 1:1 with founders, CEOs, Boards, and C-Suite Members and have loved watching them become even more successful.
I'm a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Professional, an Accredited Estate Planner (AEP), a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC), and a Certified Project Manager (CPM). I've also held various positions in the San Antonio Financial Planning Association (FPA), including Past-President, Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and Technology Director. Let's just say I've been around the block a few times.
When I'm not working, you can usually find me at my oldest son's football games, my daughter's cross country meets, or coaching my youngest son's baseball team - I like to think of myself as a real-life version of the Dad from "Cheaper by the Dozen."
I'm also a Chartered Organization Rep and trained Scoutmaster, which means I get to spend my weekends leading fundraising and merit badges for Boy Scout Troop 701. And if that's not enough, I also serve as an elder at Oak Hills Church, where I'm an on-stage host for weekend services and a Bibleland wing coordinator, responsible for over a hundred children and a volunteer staff of 25.
In my free time (if there's any left), I enjoy making my own camping and hiking gear, restoring a vintage sewing machine, and brushing up on financial planning skills with my national study group. And if you're ever looking for a karaoke partner, just give me a call - I promise I won't quit my day job.
