Heaven Wong

Aloha! My name is Heaven Wong. I am from Waimānalo, Hawaii and currently attending Chapman University in Orange, California. I’ve always had a passion for working with children and decided to embark on my journey toward becoming an elementary school teacher.

I believe all children deserve to feel the sense of belonging, and therefore, I hope to create a safe and inclusive environment in which students feel confident in who they are and what they are learning. As a future educator, I also value experiential learning and am aware of the continuous progression of technology. In response, I want to use a fusion of technology and real-life interactions to educate students. This might include having my students research real-world events or problems, come up with solutions & attainable goals, and then carry out those solutions and goals.

My ultimate goal as a teacher is for my students to want to continue learning and want to continue their own personal growth. I believe that I can achieve this goal by giving my students opportunities to learn more about what they are interested in. I also believe that asking for my students’ feedback will give them the chance to voice their opinions as well as give me the chance to improve in areas that need improvement. I would like to be just one adult in my students’ lives who reminds them daily of how special they are.
