I want to serve you as your Captain Representative of Council 34. With important negotiations coming up, we need strong, experienced leadership, someone who will stand up for pilots, for our careers, and for fairness. My record is built on those things.

During my four years as Chairman of the MEC Legislative Committee, my colleagues and I were able to put an end to management’s agenda of indefinite stalling. After five years of continuous negotiations with no tangible results, we got a contract.

That was an achievement possible only by people willing to advocate for you. Contract negotiations will soon be open again. I will fight for you. As my record shows, I am not afraid to speak out on your behalf when others take the easy road of acquiescence.

I have been active in the union for 22 of the 23 years I have been a member. I served on the local Grievance committee and the local Legislative Committee, standing up for your rights and your jobs in good and bad times. You can count on me.

A short bio: I started flying at the age of 15. I flew with the regional carrier, Trans States. I also flew for TWA until I was fortunate enough in 1997 to be hired by United, where I’ve been ever since. I have been based here in San Francisco my entire United career, and I’ve been fortunate to know so many of you and to have cultivated great relationships with our Flight Office and the Flight Office staff. I’m looking forward to another 18 years here. I’m invested in United and in our careers.

I look forward to the opportunity to represent you.
