During my years at Colorado State University, I devoted myself to the imaginative side of life. My studies focused on graphic design, page design, marketing, copy editing, how to use social media for business, as well as some photography, website design and public relations training. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Technical Communications.
While attending CSU, I interned and work at two different businesses. These experiences helped me hone the skills I learned in my classes and my passion for design really blossomed. I was introduced to and learned how to use programs like InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. I also gained experience working in a group atmosphere and creating materials that would reach my surrounding world.
I was hired by both Ace Hardware and The Tribune at about the same time and that’s where my career in design took off. I learned that creativity and imagination should run free and experimentation can give you a sense of satisfaction in your work — and in other’s eyes too — that I never thought possible. I perfected my skills and grew more and more each day in my professionalism and creativity.
