"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover" – Mark Twain

My work career started when I was age 14. I remember my first job was shredding paper at the risk management division within Lenox Hill Hospital and I got that job through SYEP. As I got older, I started to explore many other fields within NYC. Some positions I held were computer tech, manager's assistant, operations, promotions account manager, marketing specialists, and sales. All of them taught me skills that lead me onto the next path. Currently, the title I hold is pharmacy technician.
Yes, the current position is like a total 360 from what I did in the past, but I believe I have found my calling ... to be a pharmacist. If I didn't work in the other fields before, I wouldn't know what I like and what I don't like. While in college, I majored in marketing, because I like to interact with people and talk to strangers, but I just wasn't feeling it when I started working in the field.
Now, I dream to be a pharmacist and open up my own pharmacy one day helping communities and patients live a better life. I love to help and I still do love to interact with people, but hearing people thank you for your hard work, for helping them with something little, like instructing them on when to take medications, is something I'll yearn for. I hope I can achieve this 5-6 years from now. (7/25/14)
