Helen Bowman

Helen is an artist from beautiful New Zealand, where she lives on a dairy Goat farm. Helen is a self-taught artist and has created art in various forms throughout her life. She has drawn, painted, doodled, collaged and coloured since she can remember for her own personal enjoyment. As an artist Helen strives to create art that is beautiful and meaningful to her. Helen enjoys sharing her creations with world and seeing the response they achieve. Helen paints all subjects, but is more drawn toward the human form, portraits, and surreal images. Helen creates works primarily in watercolour, acrylics, coloured pencil, and since she bought an ipad2 ,finger painting. As a self-taught artist, her approach to art is non-traditional. Helen does not attempt to follow the traditional “rules” of art, but rather chooses to create with as few limitations as possible. Helens art often has a certain naive or whimsical quality. In a society that is increasingly fast paced and stressful, she finds that art provides a way to relax and rejuvenate. Seeing things with the “eye of an artist” makes it easy to see beauty where others may miss it. She is encouraged by her children and husband and has found that creating art brings joy to her life and selling it brings joy to the lives of others.
