Helen Lam

Los Angeles, CA

Helen graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with BS in Technical Writing and Communication, a BA in English Literature, and a minor in Business Administration with high honors. During her undergraduate studies, she studied aboard twice. She was admitted to Oxford University’s New College, but instead studied at University College London, where she received a full scholarship. The summer of 2008 Beijing Olympics, she was attended a program sponsored by the Chinese government and in conjunction with many of the top city universities in China.Helen also served senator on Carnegie Mellon’s Student Senate and Vice President of Member Education for the Delta Gamma Fraternity, the year that DG won Sorority of the Year Award and Best Philanthropy Award for raising over $5,000 for The Pennsylvania School for the Blind. She served as one of five student judicial board member for community and ethical standards hearings. During college, Helen also worked as a Kaplan Test Prep tutor for her community teaching SATs, ACTs, and AP English and History. Teaching will always be one of her passions; she still works for Kaplan and will be celebrating her 8 year anniversary.

After college, she signed on with the Boeing Company in their IT leadership rotation program, and moved to Los Angeles, CA. She worked an international assignment in Bristol, UK for a half year on a logistics project for the Ministry of Defense and also worked at the Boeing Paris office. In 2011, she won the Women in Technology’s Rising Star Award, and in 2014, she won Boeing’s Cash Incentive Award, for her work in leading an implementation of new technology in Europe, Middle East, and India. While still working at Boeing, she pursued her MBA at the USC’s Marshall School of Business, obtaining concentration in Leadership and Organization and an additional Graduate Certificate in Technology Commercialization. She also holds a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certificate.

Helen enjoys adamantly living every day reveling in the magnitude of unceasing beauty, kindness, and good of this world. Enjoying simple and small things in life gives her immeasurable happiness.
