Hello, I’m Helen. I'm a seasoned communications professional, currently Vice President of Communications for an association in Northern Virginia. I have a strong desire to work in academia and I'd love to pivot into an executive role managing publications and communications at a university.

My background is in education and trade association journalism, having written for Life Happens, Colonial Williamsburg, Temple University, CASE's Currents Magazine, AFCEA International's SIGNAL Magazine, NAIFA's Advisor Today magazine, and others. I've also managed print and digital media as part of an integrated communications strategy for associations and Episcopal churches and organizations. I love working with people, and I'm an effective, caring manager who believes that I'm only successful if my team is successful.

I'm a huge Nationals fan and spend a lot of time listening to and watching public media. I'm an academic at heart, and love weekend camping trips in state parks and finding new ways to cook and eat "clean."
