Diddy, The Pussycat Dolls, Robin Thicke, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Tupac, and many others.

Ms. Yu has been involved with the music industry for decades. As a teenager, having gotten her start as an intern at the legendary (now defunct) Enigma Records, one of the country’s top indie and alternative music labels. Enigma’s alumni during its 1980s heyday included Sonic Youth, Poison, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

After high school, Helen Yu while enrolled in college began working as a live show promoter in conjunction with CSN, the university’s flagship radio station at California State University - Northridge, from which she’d eventually earn a bachelor’s degree in speech communication. Her start in Southern California’s music scene gave her a head start on her career as an industry tastemaker.

After graduating from undergrad, Helen Yu enrolled at Whittier College to attend law school, where she graduated with honors. She served as an associate with a well-known Los Angeles entertainment law firm for several years, then moved on to work in-house at Virgin Records America (shortly following the sale of label by Richard Branson to Thorn-EMI) and later worked in house at Sony Pictures Entertainment Group. In 2000, she founded Yu Leseberg, A Prof Law Corp. then launched North Hudson Music, LLC.
