Henry provides leadership in development and implementation of a mission and vision of organizations he serves. Through narrative and networking, strategic planning and structural oversight of budgets and policy, he is committed to building teams prepared to achieve the mission and advance the vision of groups he works with today. Placing the highest values in relationships, Henry offers a dedication to diversity and a belief that sound decisions emanate from a dedication to applied ethics. Since 2011, he has been as a member of the CareFirst BlueCross/BlueShield, Inc. (CFI) Board. Local leaders call on him for leadership with projects to reduce crime, address housing needs, explore future City Dock configuration, transition of administrations, public transportation, and the needs of the most vulnerable. Working with the Chesapeake Bay Trust and the Spa Creek Conservancy, he led his church to retain 97% of the runoff from its non-pervious surfaces. Additionally, he led the church to work with AA Co, providing an easement for runoff from Forest Drive, through church property in Annapolis. He hosted two local TV programs, one in Pinellas County Florida, and another in Annapolis. Interviewed on BBC, CBS Sunday Morning, CNN, National Public Radio, The Wall Street Journal Report, and local media groups covering a variety of topics related to religious freedom, civil rights, and community service, he is comfortable with media. In 2007, he presented at the meeting of the AAAS on building bridges between scientists, clergy, and the general public. In 2004, he served on the Salt Street Foundation Board with Dr. James Chamberlain who worked with CHAI to assist the people of Southern India. Past member of the Commission on Freedom, Justice, and Peace for the BWA, dealing with issues ranging from health care for victims of HIV-AIDS, to human rights violations, human trafficking (the new slavery), hunger, and religious freedom. Appointed to the Legislative Compensation Commission in 2004, in 2007 was a member of the Governor’s Energy Transition Team and gave testimony on five separate occasions in support of wind power in Maryland. Also in 2007, appointed to the Maryland State Board of Morticians and Funeral Directors, (First VP to the board to 2011). Past member of the MLK, Jr. Breakfast Committee and the Foundation Board for AA Co Public Library. Chair of the 2009 Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast and was in season 2 of the Netflix TV series House of Cards.
