In 1961, Henry's father, Daniel Kane purchased the East Meadow location where the business's delivery route operations were headquartered. By 1964 Henry was bicycling to the East Meadow location to get out of the house and spend time with his father, all the while picking up the tricks of the distribution trade. By the time he was 10 years old, Henry was running the register and taking care of the store while his father was out. At this point the business did a great deal more route oriented work than retail sales, but by the 1970's they had sold the routes and began focusing on retail distribution. In 1971, the Bay Shore location was opened. Shortly thereafter, Henry became affiliated with Beverage Barn advertising co-op and was made president by the end of the decade. Henry has been married over 20 years and has five wonderful children. A Long Island resident his entire life, Henry prides himself on being part of the local business community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the NYS Association of Beverage Centers and of BigBeverage.net, and is currently the president of both the the Bay Shore and East Meadow Beverage Barn Locations.
