Herbert Duran

Stoney Creek, ON

Originally from El Salvador. After completing high school I decided to focus in Visual Arts at the School of Arts in San Salvador and I completed my studies in 1979.

In 1980 the country was in civil and political turmoil. There was much chaos affecting El Salvador at that time and being recently married, my wife and I decided to relocate to neighboring Costa Rica where we could live and raise a family.

It was in Costa Rica where I gained the opportunity to further develop myself as an artist. I began to create paintings with a very good friend and mentor, Antonio Mejia. Our work and studio became known, and we were living off the fruits of what we loved doing most. The move to Canada came in 1983, along with my wife and young daughter. Pushing forward to assimilate to the new culture and climate, my art slowly began to drift into a time of silence...

Today I am glad to share with you my art, my passion and my talents.
I really hope you will enjoy my art collection!
