Hesham Abdalla

A respiratory specialist paediatrician, Hesham is the Clinical Service Lead at George Eliot Hospital. His integrated asthma pathway was highlighted as a model of excellent practice in the Department of Health Commissioning Guide.

He has a clear vision of distributed leadership and was a Clinical Champion on the "Learning to Make a Difference" programme and is now a senior lecturer for the NHS Leadership Academy and Birmingham University.

Hesham has a strong patient focus, has won a national award in improving patient experience and has pioneered Patient and Family Centred Care programme. This helps staff to see their service through the eyes of their patients then work with them to redesign how that care is delivered.
