Hi, I'm ( Emily Hart ) the founder of Hex Code Picker.

I built Hex Code Picker with one simple goal: to create a fast, privacy-first color toolkit that helps designers and developers work with colors more efficiently. From here, you can quickly access the Color Picker, Image Color Picker, and Interactive Color Wheel while learning the fundamentals of digital color systems.

The homepage also includes educational resources covering HEX, RGB, HSL, web-safe colors, and practical color usage. Users can export selected colors and palettes directly into CSS variables, Tailwind CSS (v3 and v4), and Figma-ready formats, making the workflow smooth for both designers and developers.

Advanced Color Picker

The Color Picker is far more than a traditional color selector.

It instantly converts colors between HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, CMYK, and OKLCH, allowing professionals to work in whichever format their project requires.

Beyond conversion, it automatically generates complete color scales, including tints, shades, and tones using familiar 50–950 design steps. Designers can instantly create harmonious palettes using complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, split-complementary, and monochromatic color relationships.

Accessibility is built directly into the experience. The Image Color Picker helps users extract accurate colors from photographs, screenshots, UI mockups, logos, illustrations, and digital artwork.

Images can be uploaded manually or pasted directly from the clipboard for a faster workflow. A precision zoom magnifier enables pixel-perfect color selection, ensuring every sampled color is accurate.

The tool also analyzes the entire image to generate intelligent color palettes, identifying vibrant, light, and dark dominant colors automatically. Every extracted color can immediately be checked for accessibility, converted into multiple color formats, and exported into development-ready code.

Interactive Color Wheel

The Interactive Color Wheel combines practical design tools with an in-depth educational guide to color theory.

Users can explore dynamic color relationships using an interactive wheel that generates balanced palettes based on established harmony rules such as complementary, analogous, triadic, tetradic, split-complementary, and square combinations.

Alongside the interactive tool, HexCodePicker provides comprehensive educational content covering primary, secondary, and tertiary colors, warm and cool color groups, hue, saturation, lightness, and the principles behind effective color combinations.
