JASON “JHUSTLE” SMITH

JHustle, Born Jason Smith in Indianapolis IN, on November 29, 1983, found his love for music at an early age. As early as five he already had his first drum set and was well on his way to becoming a musician at heart. It was not until he reached middle school when classes such as band and /or chorus were offered that he began to realize the gift he had been blessed with. The first instrument he excelled with was the saxophone. Throughout his middle school days and his entire high school career, he continued to excel with the sax and began to learn other instruments along the way. His junior year he met a fellow by the name of Brandon Williams (BNice) through a mutual friend. Bnice’s love and passion for hip hop and rap began to rub off as he and Hustle hung out more. Along with his younger sister, Hustle would freestyle in the car riding through the streets of Indianapolis. Attending I.U.P.U.I. , majoring in New Media with a minor in Music Bs., offered Hustle his first opportunities at hands on recording and mixing. Despite being around the local music scene in his hometown, Hustle didn’t began to reach a level of comfort with rapping until he move to Harrisburg, Pa in 2006. It was there on the east coast in Pennsylvania’s star city that Hustle’s mid-west swagger met with the lyrical talents that lied there-in. He was introduced to a cat they called Ridicule who would give him his first opportunities to record the majority of his early material. Hustle was given his first opportunities to display his talents at a weekly showcase at the Cameron Street Café, Harrisburg, PA. After honing his skills as a performer and solidifying himself as an emcee, Hustle was ready to take it to the next level. His good friend and neighbor believed In his talent as much as he did and decided to take him to Atlanta to shop his demo. His first attempt at entrance into “the game” was deadened by the lack of cooperation of his group. Hustle decided right then to relocate to Atlanta and has never looked back since. He has networked his way into the faces of some major names, gaining slight notoriety along the way. Having not accomplished his ultimate goal as of late, Hustle continues to grind everyday to make his presence felt.
