Sydney Eat Walk and Talk

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia

We are a group of mainly retired people, many of us born in Australia and many born in South East Asia. We have been gathering for fortnightly walks for over ten years. We generally meet at 9.30 am, on the first and third Fridays of each month, at a transport hub such as Wynyard Station or Circular Quay, and travel from there to our walk site. We have explored as far north as Kuringai Chase National Park, as far south as Wollongong and west to the Blue Mountains. The walks are from 3 - 7 km long and finish at lunch. We enjoy exploring historical and cultural sites and Sydney's native bushland. Socialising, walking, talking and eating together are enjoyable elements of our gatherings. There are generally about 25 people on each walk. We walk under the umbrellas of the Heart Foundation and the Kings Cross Neighbourhood Centre.
