Hibbard Road Gardens

Hibbard Road Gardens is a Chicago North Shore garden center founded in 1927 and in continuous operation in the same location since then. It offers a wide variety of plants suited for the clay and sandy soils of the area winter hardy to Hardiness Zone 5. Trees, shrubs, evrgreens, perennials and annuals are offered as well as tropical plants in the Spring and Poinsettas & Christmas trees just before the Winter holidays. In addition, they offer everything one would need to successfully grow their plants including various soil mixes, fertilizers, pottery, plant supports and pesticides. Their staff are excellent problem-solvers and can recommend solutions to your inquiries. Some garden ornamentation is offered such as trellises, statuary, fountains and more. Their focus is upon the garden and gardening. Hibbard Road Gardens has a garden design service to help you plan a new garden or remodel an old one. They will deliver and install anything they sell and woody plant installations (except for roses and broad-leaved evergreens) are guaranteed for one year following planting. They open in the Spring on April 1st and close for the year on Christmas eve. Their offerings change with the season so that every time you go there, it seems as though there's something new and something you didn't see on your last visit.
