Hiep Nguyen

I think I am a creative dude. Why? My beautiful little 5-year-old daughter just got a "Creativity" Award from her school during her first school year. Obviously she must have gotten that creativity gene from someone (*hint* I'm her daddy). Anyway, I love my family. My daughter is my greatest inspiration. If there is a list of the "photo objects" that influenced and changed my world view, she will be the first on it. So if you are looking for a creative person to work with, then I'm the one.

I'm Vietnamese, was born and raised in Vietnam. Arts played a big role in my life growing up. I went to college in Hanoi and got a degree in Architecture. I love to draw, design, and...sing karaoke. Photography has been my deepest passion. It helped take away my uneasy feelings that everything is changing around me. I was able to capture moments around me using my old SLR camera.

Time has gone by and here I am living in this beautiful place called Hawaii, my adopted home. Photography, as always, has allowed me to unveil the Islands' magnificent beauty and to meet many incredible people. If you ask me what's next on my list of the photo objects that largely influenced me, that would be the "Hawaii sense of place".
